- A Doctoral degree relevant to the Teaching Profession/Professional practice
(Please note: Preference will be given to candidates with a relevant Doctoral degree. Consideration will be given to candidates with a relevant Master’s degree who are registered for a relevant Doctoral degree under the following conditions:
- Registration for a relevant Doctoral degree and have made significant progress (i.e. in the final write up stage and/or have submitted their final draft) towards the completion of the qualification.
- Candidates must provide a progress report from their supervisor authenticating the progress to date and the expected date of completion.)
- A relevant teaching qualification.
- At least four (4) years’ work experience in Teacher Education (tertiary level).
- A working knowledge of WIL practices, systems and models expressed in experience and academic publications.
- A working knowledge of placing students in schools, TVET colleges and industry in the Western Cape.
- Experience in management and administration in the faculty.
- Management and leadership of staff involved in WIL placements within the context of teacher education.
- Knowledge of current policies and legislation in higher education, labour and skills development relevant to WIL.
- Excellent communication skills.
